Zen and the Art of Drinking Very Hot Tea

No themes for today, not really, unless sodium is a theme.

Donuts and Do Nots

This isn't a theme per se, but:

There was a point in time, in my life, where I realized that shows like The A-Team or Knight Rider or movies like Rocky 3 or Top Gun were supposed to be written for adults and not ten year old boys.

It is said, When everyone knows beauty is beauty, this is bad. Rocky 3 was beauty and we all know it.

Finally, how much turkey bacon is too much turkey bacon?

More Ice, Less Vanilla, Some Lime... Or Another Allusion To Gin and Tonic

Themes for this day:

Something about unimpeded harmony
or something
blunts the edges,
resolves the complication,
harmonizes the light...
Something like that.

Also: Bulk spices. Of them, I can't stop talking about. I have acquired spices I can't pronounce and can't wait to make some India-tastic wonders of edible joy.

Also: Them Ants do not like that we have declared independence and are trying covert operations back into the no-fly zone, or rather, the no-ant zone. This time, however, the Raid brand spray smells like lemon Pledge brand dusting spray. This is good because it no longer smells like a mechanic's garage in here every time I fly a few sorties. This is bad because Pledge stinks.

Anyway. It is true, times are hard for dreamers, but I still will.

Lastly, last.

Super Sonic Gin and Tonic

Themes for the day:

See title.

Also: naps, work, more mexican food, and making to-do lists which, by the way,  was number one on my to-do list. A paradox of sorts, but that's how it goes sometimes.

Apparently the ants have just retreated, and I now see the folly in telling my plans to eradicate them. Their doom is near. So is my olfactory system and possibly the paint job in this apartment.

It's tough spending an entire week not-thinking. That's what I've been doing. Not contemplating the unraveling of plans that have been solidified in my mind for the past ten months, and questioning why I put so much stock, or faith, or assurance in said plans. I liked how this place felt like home, and I'm doing my best to hold on to that. So...In an unprecedented display, I will forgo the allusions and cryptic silliness that often takes hold of me when Picture of a Donkey Eating a Pineapple comes to mind, and just say what I've been saying. I did not get into grad school as I had planned, and now I'm not sure what to do about it. There, it's been said. Now, time to move on.Or at least vent about something new.

Originally this blog was to replace facebook as the one little means I had to connect to the virtual world. But, since I didn't bother telling too many people about it (read: none) I'm not sure it really connects with anything, other than me, perhaps. It's just words on a screen in yet another blog. For one reason or another, however, sometimes when no other words want to come out, or you've suddenly lost all confidence in those words, it's good to have something to type that has no criteria, no goals, (except to maybe crack a smile or roll some eyes now and then) and no reason for its existence. Thus.

Anyway. Gotta go work on my malaria defense.

Shatter Proof is Not the Same as Shatner Proof

Been playing playlists loudly and wishing I was better at all the things I want to be better at, while thinking thoughts of those I love. And of repeats.

The sun was out today, slippery, but still bright and my favorite band has a new album out. So the day aint all that bad, I'd say.

Of course now I'm behind a screen, looking at how the keys--certain ones-- have some wear to them. The grease of fingers and thousands upon thousands of strokes, tips pushing out letters, and I wonder what harm can come from reaching and stretching.

Anyway. Everyone needs more Sam Elliot in their lives. Just sayin.

Hot Dogs and Red Wine

Themes: Need this to get that so that I can get this other thing which will enable me to fill out the form to get what I want.

No miffa for moi.

Today was also new pen day. Expect lots of quantum looking drawings in the back of the notebook. I find calm in watching ink applied to paper. Sometimes I make words with that ink, other times, boxes.

Not a good day today if you were an ant in my home. Or if you were mold. Or my nose.

Extra Side of Say Wha

Themes for this day:

Got the word. Didn't get into word school. Have to scramble and come up with a Plan B, only because there wasn't a Plan A, it was just called Plan. (My first step: Order several seasons of the Simpsons...)

Also, I like this not only for the usual reasons, but because you can tell John Stewart is borderline pissed-off while still trying to put a funny spin on it all.

Sunny Side Dupe

Themes for today:

Not waitlisted but still waiting, forever waiting, for word on words school. If no word today then I assume the word is don't bother waiting. Word.

What is organic plastic really? Is it like all natural diet soda? Or pre-made original copies of first annual, newly minted coin of some event, place, or old person, that has no monetary value?

Thought I saw blue sky today so I wore the pumas... there was still blue sky when I stepped out, but lots of rain. A very Oregon thing, these splotches of blue and unrain amidst the mist and rain. These shoes were not made for puddles and wearing two pairs of socks only means two pairs of wet socks.

Check email again. Check other blog again. Check phone again. The usuals. Repeat. No word starts to become words.

Label This

Themes for the day:

Although there have been many victories, the ants cling to life and probably cling to something dead, thus...more raid is necessary-- for all. (That's a little pun-ish (or should it be pun-esque, maybe pun-like, pun-y) joke about the ants raiding the house and me using more of the ant killer made by the Raid brand.)

Today is a big day, see, I'm drinking coffee out of a DIFFERENT mug today. Huge. Well, the mug is normal size, but it's not my usual coffee mug, so, yeah. Also it will be nice if I get some big news today too. Big news AND different coffee mug.

How much turkey bacon is too much?

And I love the point in the morning were I have to decide whether I'm going to crawl back into bed or go run ten miles.
